CHALLENGE
TWG Communications was challenged to create a professional identity, print collateral materials and an online presence for “Outside Looking In”. “Outside Looking In” is an organization that gives First Nation youth an opportunity to show who they are and share their stories through dance, music and film. For participants, dancing is a way to connect to a broader world, while building self-confidence and self-esteem.
INSIGHT AND KEY CONSIDERATIONS
First Nation communities face challenges in gaining access to and implementing arts programs benefiting First Nation youth. In May 2008, young First Nation artists will showcase their skills and hard work at the St. Lawrence Centre for Arts in Toronto. Drawing inspiration from life on the reserve, each dancer has a unique story to tell about facing challenges and following their dreams.<br>The mission of “Outside Looking In” is to provide opportunities for self-expression to First Nations youth through the arts.
IMPLEMENTATION
Through client consultation, a unique visual brand was designed, supported by print collateral and an inspirational content managed website. These powerful images and communication tools add a credible and professional look to this initiative and assist in enhancing its profile.
RESULTS
The launch of “Outside Looking In” materials was received with tremendous market acceptance. As a result, key corporate sponsors have come on board to help make this initiative a success. By all accounts, this event will be a premier event.
