PUBLIC AWARENESS VIDEO

CHALLENGE

The Nipissing Transition House provides transitional housing accommodations and in house and outreach counseling services for women and families affected by domestic violence. Domestic violence remains a topic few wish to discuss. In an effort to raise awareness regarding this issue across north eastern Ontario, the Nipissing Transition House employed TWG Communications to create a PSA video for wide spread consumption.

INSIGHT AND KEY CONSIDERATIONS

The client clearly articulated a vision for the project which served as the foundation for the look and feel with TWG developing storyboard and script concepts. In order to keep cost down and develop a final product with widespread appeal, it was decided there would be no dialogue thus no translations, other than for text. The final concept called for a country lane setting so a suitable location needed to be found.

IMPLEMENTATION

With a location secured, and a crew in place, filming ran over the course of three days. One day for filming the principal character, one for capturing scenes with 40 plus volunteer women and one for acquiring sound effects. Post production, sound design and final cut editing finished the film in 30, 60 and 90 second versions. Promotional materials were also produced for publicity purposes.

RESULTS

The client is thrilled with the outcome. The video is stunningly shot and sound effects and music used create the perfect mood and texture for the content. Viewers are drawn to the forlorn character. The client’s message is clear.
