DEVELOPMENT OF WEBSITE
CHALLENGE
The Nipissing District Developmental Screen, NDDS, was originally initiated by local pediatric health care providers for the purpose of designing assessment tools for families, care givers and practitioners. They would identify a need for effective assessment tools, they created an organization of volunteers to design and develop the screens and they introduced them to the market locally. That was then. Today the NDDS is a globally recognized leader in the creation of easy to use pediatric assessment screens. Their position of leadership in this market required a website befitting the current size and scope of their organization.
INSIGHT AND KEY CONSIDERATIONS
As a volunteer run organization, NDDS has far exceeded its original goal of producing assessment screens for local service providers. NDDS screens are now the gold standard in jurisdictions around the world with new regions being added regularly. Translation of the screen is now done to accommodate a number of languages. While the screens are available free to Ontario residents, all other patrons must purchase the them.
IMPLEMENTATION
TWG Communications worked very closely with a committee of the NDDS board to develop a modern, contemporary, easy to use website. NDDS required the new site to be built in a manner that would allow them control and flexibility in manipulating content presentation. A CMS site was developed with jurisdiction specific information where applicable, easy access for visitors, full content management capability, and a contemporary look and feel designed to provide an extended shelf life.
RESULTS
Quietly launched to market in 2011, the new NDDS website has proved to be extremely effective. The look of the new site is helping to project the professional nature of the work being undertaken at NDDS and provides an appropriate online presence for their organization.
